Depature Bay

"I wish she would perform it..."

"There is no way she will perform it...yet it would be sooo freaking awesome if she did!"

"God I wish I could hear this song today...even if she does not sing it, never mind, it is still great to go to Diana's Krall concert"

Those were my thoughts as I was sitting in the concert hall waiting for Diana Krall's concert to begin.

The song in question is "Departure Bay". It is as if she knew me. As if she knew all my secret thoughts and most intimate feelings. The song gives me goosebumps. It help me survive a difficult breakup 7 years ago. It was like my best friend, my confinder, my support group.

The concert ended. She did not sing it. She came back to do an encore after and extended round of applause.

As I heard the first chords, tears came running from my eyes. It was departure bay.

I had a catharsis like experience that day. How on Earth there can exist such a powerful thing as music.
